The Wellington Invitational Competition (WIFE) is being held this weekend, Sunday 26th August. This is being hosted by Victoria University of Wellington Swords Club, and will be held at the Kelburn Campus Recreation Centre

The New South Wales Fencing Association invites you to attend the conjoined Friendship Cup Teams Championships and Koala Mini Challenge. These events are for U8, U10, U12, and U14 fencers, and are being held at the NSW Fencing Centre in Sydney from 5th to 9th December, 2018.

This competition is an excellent introduction for younger fencers to competing in a large competition with other fencers from Australia, Singapore, and Hong Kong, and is also a great opportunity to make friends and have fun.

Robert is planning to travel with the fencers if the group is large enough as the team coach. Please confirm your interest in competing with Robert, and who from your family will be going with you. This will help greatly with planning the trip.

Fencing Central is running a Armoury session to introduce you to the basics of looking after and repairing your own fencing equipment. This is an invaluable skill for any competitive fencers, or if you own any of your own gear.

The course is being run by Daniel Chan from Mainland Fencing Equipment on 25th August from 12.30pm to 2.30pm at the Wellington Swords Clubrooms in Brooklyn.

If you are competing at the NZ Secondary School Championship next month, we highly recommend attending this session. The cost is $10.00 per person, plus some tools and equipment.

HVFC and Fencing Central invite you to attend the Central Under 20 Championship held at Wellington Bowling Club, Brooklyn on 18 and 19 August. Please note that all events will be mixed gender.

Due to venue limitations, a maximum of 21 entrants per event will be enforced. Registrations close at 5pm 16 August, so make sure to get in quick to avoid missing out.

Epee: 1.30pm registration, Saturday 18 August
Sabre: 2.45pm registration, Saturday 18 August
Foil: 8.45am registration, Sunday 19 August

Wellington Swords Club is hosting the Central U11 and U13 #2 Competition on Saturday 4th August at the Wellington High School Gymnasium on Taranaki Street.

Registration will open at 12.30pm with fencing due to begin at 1.00pm.

This competition is a fantastic opportunity for our younger fencers to develop more experience fencing in a competitive environment as well as have some good fun. We strongly encourage attendance to all those who are considering fencing at the Australian Koalas and Friendship Cup in December.

Entries are due by Thursday 2nd August.
