We are fast approaching the end of yet another successful term of fencing.  Well done to everyone who has been working hard at their goals over the term, and a special congratulations to those who competed at the National Secondary Schools, Central Under 20’s, and the Junior Commonwealths. There are still a few more competitions coming up this year, so keep on the lookout for details of these.

The 10.00am session on Saturday 29th September will be the last class for term 3, and everyone is welcome to come along. There will be a two week break over the school holiday, with fencing resuming on Tuesday 16th October. There may be some casual fencing over the break, so keep an eye on the club Facebook group for details of these.

Well done on a great term everyone, and enjoy a well-deserved break!

Fencing New Zealand & Fencing Mid South invite you to attend  the 75th New Zealand National Open &  Veteran Championships being held at Pioneer Stadium in Christchurch on 20th to 22nd October 2018.

After a successful national training camp in April, Coach Slava will return for another training camp with Anya just in time for Nationals!

This will be held in Auckland on 1st to 4th October, 2018 at a cost of $400.

We’re excited to say that beginning next week from 11th September, we will be restarting the Tuesday 6.00pm to 7.00pm class. This class is oriented towards beginner fencers and those aged under 13.

This had been made possible by Florence Ferguson, who has joined the HVFC coaching team as an assistant coach after five years of competitive fencing. Thank you Florence for taking on this responsibility, we look forward to having you as part of the team!

Florence will be joined by junior coach, Will Johnson, to provide fencers with the opportunity to master the basics and develop their skills in a fun environment. We hope to see lots of our younger club members at this class in the coming weeks; and bring a friend along so they can have a free trial lesson.

Fencing North invites you to attend the 2018 National U20 Championship in Auckland on 29th and 30th September.

Weapons control will be held on Friday evening and one hour before each event. Entries close on 26th September
