Wellington Swords Club invites you to to attend the Central Novice Secondary Schools Foil Competition which will be held on Saturday, 26 May 2018 at Wellington High School. 

Entries are accepted until the day of the competition, but to help the organisers, please get your entries in soon.

This competition is for high school foilists who have been fencing for no more than 2 years, and is a great opportunity to familiarise yourself with the competition environment.

Please note that the 10am fencing session on 19th May is cancelled. This is due to the Fencing Central Championships being held over the weekend. The High Performance Conditioning is also cancelled for this Saturday.

Sessions and Conditioning will continue as normal the following Saturday. If you have free time over the weekend, come down to Wellington High School to support the many fencers from HVFC competing over the weekend.

Thank you to everyone who turned out to the HVFC 2018 AGM tonight. Great to see so many people invested in the future of the club.

Firstly, we would like to pass on a massive thank you to Keith, Bea and Glenda, who are stepping down from their roles on the committee. They have all been an integral part of the committee for many years, and we greatly appreciate their contributions.

We also have elected a new committee to lead the club for 2018:

Fencing North is hosting the 2018 North Island Championships, also incorporating the National U23 Championship and the New Zealand Veteran Sabre Challenge. This will be held at Massey High School in Auckland.

The competition is from Saturday 2nd June to Monday 4th June, with entries due by Wednesday 30th May.

Just a reminder that there are two upcoming events at the club this month.

The 2018 AGM is being held Thursday night (10th May) at the clubrooms, starting at 6pm. This should not take too long, but we would like to see as many fencers, parents, caregivers and other interested people as possible. We still need nominations for committee positions, so please give some thought as to how you can contribute to the club. Without the hard work of our committee, the club simply cannot continue to operate.

The second event is the Fundraising and Birthday party being held on the 26th May. We need to know approximate numbers as soon as possible, so if you are intending to attend, please RSVP to huttvalleyfencing@gmail.com. Full details can be found here, and payments can be made to 12-3142-0358976-00.
