New Zealand U15 and U17 Championships
Fencing Central is hosting the national U15 and Cadet championships in April (Sat 21 to Mon 23) this year, at Wellington High School. This is a fantastic opportunity for all age eligible fencers to test themselves against fencers from all over the country, and we strongly recommend you give it a go. If you have any questions, make sure to talk to your coach. Registrations are due by 18th April.
Fencers are required to be affiliated with FENZ to participate in this tournament. Please renew your membership, or become a member if you are not yet. This small fee goes a long way to supporting the administration of fencing nationwide, and making the sport accessible to everyone. Click here to affiliate now.
National Training Camp (Wellington)
In the lead-up to the NZ U15 and U17 champs, a three day national training camp is being held in Wellington, from 17 to 19 April at Wellington High School. This is a great opportunity to fine-tune your skills in either foil or epee, and is open to experienced fencers aged 12 and up. Spaces are limited, so enrol soon if you want to attend.
The course is run by Coach Slava and Anya Kamynina. Coach Slava is an experienced foil and epee coach, with over 30 years experience working with the Russia and Singapore national teams. Anya is a foil coach from Auckland with 20 years experience, and was a part of the Russian national team.
