Saturday Fencing

Please note that there is no 10am fencing session this Saturday (17th June). This is due to HVFC playing host to the Secondary School Teams competition at the clubrooms. Fencing will be on again as usual next week.

Even though the session is cancelled, it would be great if you wanted to come along to support your club-mates at the competition. Saturday is Epee and Sabre team events, which may be quite different to what you normally fence and interesting to watch.

If you want to enter to compete, entries are due tomorrow, so get in quick. Click here to enter.

Secondary Schools Team champs

Reminder to all intermediate and secondary school fencers to enter the Central Secondary School Team Champs.

Use this link https://goo.gl/forms/g7XQQsBEc5XSjbWg2 to enter.

On the form it mentions a hire fee for club gear hired for the competition. This is only for fencers from other clubs, not for HVFC members. As always, you can borrow the competition gear you need, but don’t leave it till the last minute!

U13, U11, U9 #2 Competition

The second U13, U11, & U9 competitions for 2017 are coming up soon, hosted by Hutt Valley Swords at their clubrooms. More details for the competitions can be found in the attached entry forms, and fencers must be affiliated with FeNZ. This is a fantastic learning opportunity for our younger fencers, and will give you a taste of how much fun competing can be.

U11 & U9 is 25th June, and entries are due by 9pm 22nd June. Download U11 & U9 entry form.

U13 is held on 2nd July, and entries are due by 9pm 29th June. Download U13 entry form.

Welcome to the HVFC website!

The club committee is pleased to announce that we now have a website for the club!

All club updates and announcements will be made through this website. You can opt-in to receive an email notification whenever we make a new post so that you never miss out on any exciting events or updates for HVFC. We will also continue to utilise the club’s Facebook group and email communications where appropriate.

We have heaps of information on here for both existing club members, and for anyone who is interested in having a go at fencing or joining our friendly club.

2017 Affiliations are open

Finally, the affiliation system is up and running!
This year you will affiliate directly with Fencing New Zealand, rather than through the region as previously. Follow this link and sign up www.dev.fencing.org.nz

Who should affiliate?
Preferably everyone (choose the lowest $30 category if you are new and not yet competing), definitely everyone who has been fencing with us since last year.
It is not a lot of money, but it makes all the difference to the sport.
If you want to know more about how your affiliation money is used and how it benefits you / the sport, please either talk to us or read through the information on Fencing Central.
