Club Open Day 2nd of February

We would like to invite those who are looking to join Hutt Valley Fencing Club for 2019 to attend our Club Day on Saturday the 2nd of February 2019. We are hosting this event at 35 Percy Cameron St, Avalon, Lower Hutt 5011, our current club address. This event will be running from 10am to 2pm. Come along for a little or a while.

We are hosting a cafe with some food, fencing games, the oppitunity to collect the updated club policies and register with the club for 2019. Daniel Chan, owner of Mainland Fencing, will be there to sell new fencing gear. We would also like to  encourage club members to bring old gear that doesn’t fit anymore to sell to other club members.

HVFC Potential Training Sessions 2019

Hello and welcome back to returning Hutt Valley Fencing Club memembers. The comittee hopes that you all had a wonderful holiday and a well earnt break.

This year is bound to be another busy year like last year and we are hoping to grow as a club even more this year!

Some of our fencers may already be aware that the HVFC’s time at the Fraser Park venue will be drawing to a close however a final date has not yet been decided.

With this in mind the Management Committee have been working away in the background to try and secure a new venue in Lower Hutt, this is quite a challenge in itself with the Club’s list of wishes, and halls and sporting venues in short supply. We have a venue in the pipeline however this will see a change in the training session times available. Therefore we would like our fencers to help us gauge whether new training times will be popular before finalising the 2019 timetable, obviously taking into account the venue’s availability.

Please can you answers the FOUR simple questions in the form attached to help us make some of these decisions. Your input is really important and we thank you in advance for taking the time to do this.

2019 Club Registration Form

Dear Hutt Valley Fencing Club members,

The HVFC Committee would like to ask all fencers who wish to attend HVFC in 2019 to please complete our new online registration form. This includes all new and existing club members.

This is to ensure that we have an accurate record of who is attending the club for planning purposes, as well as providing us with an updated list of contact details so that we can reach all club members with any important news or announcements. Finally, we require an updated list of emergency contacts for all fencers in the highly unlikely event of an incident at training.

Therefore, it is important that all fencers complete this registration form as soon as possible.

The registration form can be accessed by clicking here.

BREAK IN AT THE CLUB

It comes as bitter news that we had a break-in at the club overnight (I assume) on the 27th of November. Robert’s bag with all of his coaching gear has gone missing along with at least 2 pairs of shoes, an epee, the leftover soft drinks, emergency crisis kit, soldering iron and other bits.

Please keep an eye open on any of the Facebook market pages, trade and other reselling sites for what looks like fencing gear, though I doubt that it will be listed as fencing gear.

A few of the club members have also had things disappear from their bags so if you leave your bag at fencing overnight please make an effort to pick it up asap and take it home each night with you until further notice. The image included was what Robert took this afternoon but if you can’t see your bag there then there is a good chance that it has also been taken.

Apologies for any inconvenience that this has caused.

Talent Performance Group Extension

A number of fencers are in exams and have asked me to extend the period to complete the application form for the Talent Performance Group. So after consideration for the fencers who were able to get the form completed, we will extend the application period to Friday 30th of November.
