Term 1 Start Date and Details

Thank you for those club members who managed to come out for our club day on the 2nd of  February. It was great catching up with all of you for some fun and games to get us back into the club spirit.

Start date

The club’s first formal training session for term 1 of 2019 is Tuesday the 5th of February. As there is conditioning on Tuesdays, both Tuesday classes will begin at 6pm with the U13 and beginners finishing at 7pm. The senior fencing class will be finishing at 8pm with Alex’s strengthening and conditioning training running from 8pm – 9pm.

There are a couple of things to note. First of all, our senior classes will be starting at 6pm instead of 7pm. This is to help accommodate and include a fitness and conditioning class that will be run by Alex from 8 – 9pm on Tuesday evenings. Thursday evenings will also be finishing at these new times.

Currently we are trying to gauge interest in having a Wednesday 4pm – 6pm class, so those who are interested in a Wednesday class are to speak to Robert. Due to a drop in attendance to this session, it is unlikely that this session will carry on. There are no Wednesday Classes till further notice.

A full list of the session times can be found here.

HVFC Potential Training Sessions 2019

Hello and welcome back to returning Hutt Valley Fencing Club memembers. The comittee hopes that you all had a wonderful holiday and a well earnt break.

This year is bound to be another busy year like last year and we are hoping to grow as a club even more this year!

Some of our fencers may already be aware that the HVFC’s time at the Fraser Park venue will be drawing to a close however a final date has not yet been decided.

With this in mind the Management Committee have been working away in the background to try and secure a new venue in Lower Hutt, this is quite a challenge in itself with the Club’s list of wishes, and halls and sporting venues in short supply. We have a venue in the pipeline however this will see a change in the training session times available. Therefore we would like our fencers to help us gauge whether new training times will be popular before finalising the 2019 timetable, obviously taking into account the venue’s availability.

Please can you answers the FOUR simple questions in the form attached to help us make some of these decisions. Your input is really important and we thank you in advance for taking the time to do this.

2019 Club Registration Form

Dear Hutt Valley Fencing Club members,

The HVFC Committee would like to ask all fencers who wish to attend HVFC in 2019 to please complete our new online registration form. This includes all new and existing club members.

This is to ensure that we have an accurate record of who is attending the club for planning purposes, as well as providing us with an updated list of contact details so that we can reach all club members with any important news or announcements. Finally, we require an updated list of emergency contacts for all fencers in the highly unlikely event of an incident at training.

Therefore, it is important that all fencers complete this registration form as soon as possible.

The registration form can be accessed by clicking here.
