Hutt Valley Fencing Club and Fencing Central invite you to attend the Fencing Central Under 11 and Under 13 #4 Competition 2023 on Sunday 5 November 2023.
Under 11 is open to any fencer aged 10 or younger on January 1st 2023. Under 13 is open to any fencer aged 12 or younger on January 1st 2023.
Time Table
Secondary School Novice will be one round of Pools followed by a Direct Elimination round.
Under 11 and Under 13 may be two rounds of Pools or one round of Pools followed by a Direct Elimination round, the format will be clarified to fencers during registration.

Jacket: 350N Plastron: 350N Breeches*: 350N with long socks required for Epee Masks: 350N – Foil bib and head wires required for foil Weapons: Max size 3 for Under 13, and Size 2 for Under 11
*Foil doesn’t require breeches for any event. Please ensure that you are wearing track pants – No shorts or bare skin will be allowed at all.
Secondary School Individual Championship: $60.00 for first event. Additional Individual events: $30.00 for each additional individual event. Team entries: $100 per team entered, to be paid by the regions.
Entries due:
Friday 18th August. Entries received after this date will attract a $50.00 late fee.
Payment can be made by direct deposit to 02-0500-0025212-00 and is due at the time of entry. Please reference fencer’s full name and “NSS23” and ensure that the amount paid is accurate and includes late fees if applicable.
All individual events will be a round of pools followed by a direct elimination round.
All team events will be a round of pools if fewer than 5 teams have entered the event. If a team event has 5 or more teams entered, it will be a direct elimination round with rankings based on Individual results. This format is subject to change.
If numbers permit separate men’s and women’s events may be held concurrently. A minimum of 6 fencers will be required in individual events to split genders, any less and the event will be mixed.
Weapons control (weights and gauges) will be tested on the piste.

Teams Event Information and Application Details
Expressions of interest and nominations are invited for the Central Region teams for the 2023 National Secondary School Championship to be held 26-27 August in Wellington. The Central Region can submit a maximum of two teams per weapon and gender. If you would like to be considered, or would like to nominate a fencer for inclusion in one of the teams for the Central Region, please email the following details to: secretary@fencingcentral.org.nz by end of Friday 18 August:
