Welcome back to Hutt Valley Fencing for 2024!

Please beware that our usual classes resume this week, with the first class being this Monday the 5th of February. Please note that there has been a change to the session times.

Week Night Classes

Monday (Chilton St James)

The junior class will be running from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm. This is an earlier start time than last year as we would like to encourage the younger fencers to stay on after their class has concluded to do some extra free fencing.
The senior class will commence with a gentle start at 6:00 pm, incorporating self-directed warm-ups and individual lessons. If you or your child are keen on participating in private lessons, kindly coordinate directly with the coaches. The formal class will officially kick off at 7:00 pm. We are currently gauging interest in extending the duration of this class for the upcoming term.

Wednesday (Chilton St James)

Our Wednesday class will continue to run from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. This class is still targeted towards our secondary school and adult-aged fencers. These times are identical to the times that it was running last year. 

Weekend Class

Satruday (Upper Hutt College)

Our Saturday class is also resuming this week with a start time of 10:00 am until 11:30 am. This class will continue to be run at Upper Hutt College and is targeted towards our Under 13 fencers.

Registration for 2024

Please ensure that you register to fence with Hutt Valley Fencing Club for 2024. We ask that you do this each year to ensure that we have the most up-to-date contact details in case of emergency.

Join us on Friday, January 19th, from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm at the YMCA in Upper Hutt for an engaging session.

This class is tailored for individuals aged 7 and above.

Secure your spot for $50 by making payment before Tuesday, January 16th. From Wednesday and onwards, the fee will be $60.

As fencing wraps up this Saturday, September 16th, we extend an invitation for all of our club members to join us for games and a potluck picnic afterward at our usual venue, Upper Hutt College.

Our regular Saturday morning session will run from 10 am to 11:30 am, followed by a gathering at the park (weather permitting) for the potluck picnic. Even if you’re not a regular at our Saturday morning sessions, you’re more than welcome to join us for this event!
