2019 Fencing Central Talent Development Program

Fencing Central is opening nominations for the 2019 Central Talent Development Programme.

This scheme is for athletes who have been fencing for three plus years, are aged between 13 and 20 inclusive, and are achieving a good level of fencing skills and physical prowess.

They must enjoy fencing, the fencing environment, be looking for success in competitions and willing to put in the hard work to support this. It is also aimed at fencers who are going to regional, national, and international events.

Fencers with potential who are serious about their training may also be considered. Younger fencers can apply and we will discuss your application with your coach.

We are targeting foil and épée fencers, though obviously some training elements are transferable across all three weapons.

Please read this document to get a clear idea of what we are looking for and to see if you do, or can, meet the standards required.

To apply, please fill in the form available here.

To help with planning, a draft tournament calendar for 2019 is available here, provided by Grant Tweedle and Vicci Lamb
