Attention All Saturday Fencers!

There is going to be a change of venue for training this Saturday the 2nd of November. This is due to a softball competition that we were only informed of on Tuesday taking place this Saturday in our fencing club rooms.

New Venue

We will be training at Treadwell Street Hall instead of the grand stand. We have used this venue a number of times before but I have included a link to google maps below.

Training Time — 9.30am – 11.30am

Please note, along with the change of venue, there is also going to be a change in training times also. We will begin our session at 9.30am instead of the usual 10am start and we will be finisihing at 11.30am instead of 12pm.

Sorry for any inconvience that this has caused and we hope to see you there this weekend.

No Fencing Saturday The 26th of October

Unfortunately, there will be no training this Saturday at 10am due to the National Opens this weekend.

We Also Need help For Weapons Control…

We are running weapons control this year for nationals and need some members to work in some rostered roles spread over the weekend.

We are also running the cafe so not only could we use a hand with running it but we would also appreciate some tasty home baking and snacks.

Lastly, a big part of running a competition as a region means that we are required to help set up and pack down as part of the regional body. The set up for the competition will be Friday the 25th at 5.30pm at Wellington High School.

Entry Fee is $20.00 per fencer.

Gear Requirements

Foils:

Under 11’s must have Size 0 or 1
Under 13’s must have Size 2 or 3

Whites:

350N Plastrons, 350N Fencing Jackets, and 350N Fencing Gloves MUST be worn.
Breeches with Long Socks, or Track Pants – No Shorts or Bare Skin will be allowed.
Masks must have 350N Foil Bibs, Head Wires and Safety Straps.
Chest Plates MUST be worn.

Format

Two rounds of Poules, Followed by a Direct Elimination Round.
Depending on numbers we may or may not split the age groups for the Poules.
